Authorised users only

This page enables users to register for membership types that aren’t generally available. Please use only if requested to do so by the Membership secretary, and do not pass this link on to anyone else. If you have any doubts about which option to select, or other queries, please contact the Membership secretary by email at membership@britishbryologicalsociety.org.uk.

Select the appropriate membership type from the following list to launch the registration form. Complete the form and submit as normal.

Honorary memberships

Please log in to the website before selecting one of the options below.

For the option with an annual donation, you will be asked to pay using a debit or credit card, and this will set up an annually recurring payment. Naturally if you wish to cancel at any time, you may do so by contacting the membership secretary.

Optionally, you – or the family member you have added – can set up their own website user profile so that they can log in with their own email address, and opt to receive email Newsletters if desired. To do this, follow these steps:

  5. Submit the form

    or
Gift add-on membership (50%) (to pay half the subscription)

Please then let the Membership Secretary know, so that they can register the recipient as a member with the usual benefits (publications and website access).

Gift membership (for non-members)

People occasionally contact us wishing to buy membership for a relative or friend.  In order to do this, you (the donor) will need to first register as a user within the system, add a Gift add-on subscription (paid), and then register the relative or friend (recipient) for a Gift (free) membership. To set this up, please complete the steps below.

  1. Click on this link –Gift add-on membership – which will open a registration form. Complete the form with your (donor) name, address. email etc, but specifying the name and email address of the recipient against the ‘Additional member name’ and ‘Additional member email’ fields. You will be asked to pay the subscription amount using a debit or credit card, and this will set up an annually recurring payment.
  2. Ensure that you are logged out of the website, then take this link – Gift membership – to set up free membership for the recipient. A similar registration form will be displayed, but this time you should complete the form with the name, address and email of the recipient of your gift, and enter your own name and email into the ‘Additional member name’ and ‘Additional member email’ fields. This will set your friend or relative up as a member with the usual benefits (publications and website access).
If you prefer, then your recipient can perform this step if you pass on the link (Gift membership)
Note that this step will trigger a Welcome email to be sent to the recipient, so if you wish this to arrive on a certain date, just delay the second step until this day.

If you wish to continue paying the gift membership each year, then you need do nothing further and payment will automatically be taken each year (provided your payment card is still active). However if you are only intending to pay for one year’s membership, then you should log in as yourself (donor) at some point within the next year, go to you Account, click on the Subscriptions tab and cancel your Gift Add-on subscription. The cancellation will only take effect on the renewal date.
