Alla Rasskazova is a Ukrainian botanical artist based in Kyiv, and a member of the British Society of Botanical Artists. She has been researching the endangered plant species of Ukraine, but – being unable to go out and search for specimens to work with at present – turned to photos on the internet for inspiration. She found this image of Meesia uliginosa on the BBS website, and asked our permission to use it.

Yes, art definitely helps a lot, and Ukrainian Society of Botanical Artists is alive. We do projects for charity and each of us helps people and the army whenever it’s possible.
