Moss Week at the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland was a great success. About 50-60 people in total attended the three tours and talk over the course of the week. The tours included a visit to the “Killarney Fern House” a cool humid greenhouse that isn’t normally open to the public and is limited on space, so the maximum number was limited to 15 for each tour. The tour on Saturday for National Moss Day itself was fully booked!
Joanne Denyer also gave a wonderful bryophyte talk at the BSBI Irish AGM which took place at the Gardens on Saturday and ran a bryo workshop for BSBI AGM attendees, so hopefully BSBI members will be encouraged to check out the BBS as well.
