Where & when: This workshop will run from Friday January 23rd (4pm) to Sunday January 25th January (4pm) 2026 at Preston Montford Field Studies Centre near Shrewsbury.
Description: The workshop will start on Friday evening with an introduction to acrocarps, followed on Saturday and Sunday by a systematic review of the main acrocarpous groups. Tiered practical sessions will provide differentiated instruction, allowing you to achieve the same learning objectives but at different levels of complexity. There will be opportunities to observe acrocarps in the field.
Cost: This is a residential workshop based at Preston Montford. The cost will be £300 for single occupancy, which covers room and all board, training, lab and microscope hire, although you are welcome to bring your own microscopes.
Booking: Places are limited to 14 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. This course is for intermediate bryologists and is only for members of the BBS.
