For our first excursion of 2025, we move from poorly-recorded fenland to well-recorded Brampton Wood, a Wildlife Trust nature reserve.  The wood lies between Brampton and Grafham, and can be approached from the A1 via Brampton, or from the A14 via Ellington and Grafham.  The current state of the wood is assessed as follows:

Access to Brampton is open from both ends of the road [the road has recently been closed for access from Grafham] and the car park should be open as well. It will probably be very muddy but should be passable with the suitable footwear.
