The newly formed West Scotland group held two meetings this summer. The deepest, largest patch of peatland on Skye is found in the north, near Portree, which was the location for the second meeting on June 19th. This focused on the genus Sphagnum and was a fantastic introduction to identifying this group of bryophytes.
Many thanks to BBS member Nick Hodgetts for his time and expertise; here’s to another bryology & bleather filled 2024!
