Described in the Flora of Hampshire as one of the most beautiful and spectacular parts of the Forest
Bramshaw Wood is an extensive wood in the north of the New Forest. Parts are dominated by Beech and Sessile Oak, and also contain a good range of flushed habitats. Apart from an excellent number of species of acid soils and epiphytes of old trees, there are records for Saccogyna viticulosa and a nearby record for the western liverwort Harpalejeunea molleri.
Meet at the car park at the western corner of the wood at SU249165, south of Nomansland. DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS THIS WILL BE LIMITED TO 5 ADDITIONAL PARTICIPANTS ONLY ON A FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVED BASIS. PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT TO COME and please let me have your current mobile phone number. The Wessex Group will be meeting at the car park to the north and hopefully we will be able to arrange to meet up for a socially-distanced lunch!
