4 April 2018 - 11 April 2018

Meeting report

Swaledale is one of the major Yorkshire Dales, extending from the headwaters of the R. Swale at High Seat on the Westmorland border eastwards to the town of Richmond, where it opens out into the Vale of York. It is positioned between Wensleydale to the south and Teesdale to the north, and had not been visited previously by the BBS, with the exception of a few sites in the upper part of the Dale during the summer meeting at Sedbergh in 1969.

In recent decades recording has been sporadic, with only a few sites worked in any detail, so the meeting was an opportunity to update the records.
