The scanned reports

These reports have been scanned from different originals by Mike Walton and Dr Philip Stanley. Both versions are included here as there are slight differences between the two, for example in the presence of additional notes and lists of desiderata, or missing pages in the original reports.

From 1903, the MEC consisted of 2 sections: Section I comprised the original, more experienced members, and Section II was created for less experienced bryologists and beginners. The 2 sections operated independently and produced separate reports.

For the Section I reports, individual annual reports are from Mike Walton’s scans, and the combined PDFs were produced by Dr Stanley.

For the Section II reports, Dr Stanley has managed to source a more complete set and there are no differences between the two (where both exist), so we have provided Dr Stanley’s copies here.

We are extremely grateful to both for providing these copies and allowing us to make them available through the website.

The original reports scanned by Mike Walton were donated to the BBS by The Manchester Museum Herbarium (Manchester University) in 2004, and the BBS wishes to record its thanks to the Museum for its generosity.
